Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Paula Nupieri’s creative life began early and spanned multiple disciplines: visual arts, dance, acting and musical theater all shaped her sensibility for composition, movement and storytelling. Her path carried her beyond Argentina to Curaçao and Aruba, where she discovered the focused, meditative craft of papercutting and made it the center of her artistic practice.
Papercutting, for Paula, is both precise craft and expressive language. With blade and hand she carves negative and positive space into intricate motifs—flora, architectural silhouettes and layered abstractions—that invite close viewing. Her pieces explore rhythm, scale and the interplay of light and shadow, often resulting in works that feel both delicate and architecturally sound. Exhibited at regional art fairs and galleries, Paula’s papercuts reflect a multi-disciplinary background and a devotion to technique that brings timeless craft into contemporary conversations.
